Glasgow's HONEY SHOW

HONEY SHOW

HONEY JUDGE: Enid Brown

Time: 7pm

Venue: Heart of Scotstoun Community Centre, Balmoral Street, Glasgow, G14 0BL

Items should be staged between 7pm and 7.30pm to allow Enid to start promptly at 7.30pm.
For a copy of the classes please contact the secretary: glasgowbeeksec@hotmail.co.uk

This is a fun event, there are no charges to enter. Exhibits must be the products of the owner's apiary.

This is a marvellous opportunity for you to exhibit your produce and creativity, to let others see it and to have it judged by a very experienced Honey Judge. Please arrive promptly at 7pm. All items must be staged and ready for the Honey Judge to begin judging at 7.30pm.

Bring your completed entry sheet and give it to Paul Tran when you arrive. You will be given labels to label your exhibits. Exhibitor number to be placed 12mm above the bottom of the jar; on top of frames, cut comb and sections; underneath wax and baking, on the back of photographs and on the back of explanation cards for contraptions.

Paper plates will be provided for the baking.

While Enid is doing the judging she will describe each item and what she is looking for. She will explain what she's thinking and how she chooses which exhibit gets which prize. This information is invaluable if you want to learn how to improve your products for showing and selling to the public.

There will be a display of the display items that the club has. These are used for events like the Orchid Fayre each May in the Botanic Gardens and the Small holders festival each September  in Lanark. If you plan on putting on a display, or are giving a talk to schools or groups, you are welcome to borrow these items. Have a look and see how we set it up to make it appealing to the public to draw them in and to encourage discussion on the wonders of the honey bee and the vital work that bees do in pollination.
